Website But No Enquiries? Run This Free Diagnostic

Run these four checks in order and the cause identifies itself — usually at check one. Most people skip straight to a redesign, which is the most expensive available answer to a question they haven’t asked yet.

Check 1 — Is anyone actually arriving?

Everything depends on this, so do it first.

Open Google Analytics and look at monthly users. If it isn’t installed, that’s a finding in itself — nobody set up measurement — and you’ll need about a week of data before continuing. Google Search Console will at least show whether Google is displaying your pages.

What you see Diagnosis Stop here?
Single-digit monthly users Traffic problem. The site is not the cause Yes — go to “if it’s traffic” below
Tens or hundreds of users, zero enquiries Possible site problem Continue to check 2
No analytics installed Nobody set up measurement Install it, wait a week, return

This single check resolves most cases, and it’s the one most often skipped because it needs setup rather than an opinion. A redesign will not change a single-digit visitor count.

Check 2 — Does contact actually work?

Test it yourself, as a stranger, on your own phone on mobile data:

Submit your enquiry form. Did the message arrive? In which inbox? Is it one you check? Forms silently failing, or landing in a developer’s mailbox, is common and invisible from outside.
Tap the WhatsApp button. Does it open a chat with your number, including the country code? A missing +91 breaks it for a share of users.
Tap the phone number. Does it dial the right number?
Is the number visible without scrolling on a phone?

If any of these fails, you’ve found it, and the fix is small. A working site with broken contact looks identical from outside to a site nobody visits.

Check 3 — Is the page persuasive?

Traffic arriving, contact working, still nothing. Now the page is a fair suspect. Read your home page on a phone and check whether a stranger gets these in five seconds:

What they need Ask yourself
What you do Stated plainly, or hidden behind a slogan?
Where you are Is the city visible? Local buyers check first
Roughly what it costs Any price or range at all?
Why you rather than others One specific reason, not “quality service”
How to contact you, easily One tap, or a nine-field form?
Some evidence Real photographs of your work, or reviews

Two patterns cause most conversion failure: no price signal anywhere, and a contact method that asks more effort than the visitor’s interest justifies. Both are cheap to fix and neither needs a rebuild.

Check 4 — Is there demand at all?

The uncomfortable one, and worth asking honestly.

Check Search Console for the queries your site appears for, then search your service plus your area, without your name, in a private window. Also check whether people search for your service at all.

Some categories have very little search demand — highly local trades, relationship-driven services, products nobody types into a search box. If that’s you, the website was never going to be the growth mechanism, and the money belongs in reviews, referral and local presence instead.

Match the diagnosis to the spend

Diagnosis Right spend Wrong spend
No traffic Business Profile, reviews, ads, content A redesign
Broken contact A small fix — an hour or two Anything else
Traffic but no conversion Rewrite the page; add price and proof More ads
No demand in the category Reviews, referral, local presence Anything digital

That table is the whole point of the diagnostic. The redesign row is where most money gets wasted.

If it’s a traffic problem

Which it usually is. In order of cost:

1. Verify your Google Business Profile. Free. Photographs, hours, full services list. For local trade this appears above page results and has a call button — often more enquiries than a website’s first six months.

2. Ask ten customers for reviews. Free, and it moves local results more than almost anything.

3. Put your link everywhere — Instagram bio, WhatsApp profile, invoices, visiting cards, a QR code on your bill, your email signature.

4. Set up Search Console under your own Google account and read the queries you nearly rank for. Those pages are the cheapest wins available.

5. Then run one small measured ads test. High-intent service queries in NCR carry top-of-page bids of roughly ₹20–190, so a fixed budget over two to three weeks tells you what an enquiry costs. That number is what makes every later decision arithmetic rather than hope.

Note that steps 1–4 are free and are usually undone.

Before you spend anything on traffic

Three prerequisites, or you’re buying visitors you can’t convert or count:

☐ The site converts — visible number, working WhatsApp, form reaching an inbox you check, a price signal
☐ You can measure — analytics and Search Console under your own Google account
☐ You can reply fast — if enquiries sit for a day, fix that before buying more of them

The expectation worth correcting

A website converts people who are sent to it. It doesn’t create them. That belief is so widely held and so wrong that an entire genre of Indian content exists to explain it after the money is spent.

If your quote said “SEO friendly” or “Google submission included,” check the wording literally — those usually mean page titles, a mobile layout and a submitted sitemap. Real hygiene; no ranking work.

What to do this week

  1. Install analytics and Search Console under your own account, then wait a week.
  2. Test the form, WhatsApp button and phone number from your own phone.
  3. Read your home page as a stranger and check the six five-second items.
  4. Search your service plus your city, without your name, and note what appears.
  5. Match the diagnosis to the spend table before paying for anything.

If you want it done the certain way

Send us your website address and we’ll run all four checks and tell you which one is failing — including when the answer is that nothing is wrong with the site and you need traffic, not a rebuild. That’s a diagnosis, not a quotation. WhatsApp us; we reply in about five minutes between 9am and 7pm.

FAQ

My website gets no customers — why?
Check in order: whether anyone is arriving, whether your contact form and WhatsApp button actually work, whether the page gives a visitor a reason and a price signal, and whether your service has real search demand. Most cases resolve at the first check.

Should I redesign my website if it gets no enquiries?
Not before checking traffic. A site with single-digit monthly visitors has a traffic problem, and a redesign changes nothing. Redesign only when visitors arrive in reasonable numbers and still don’t contact you.

How do I know if it’s a site problem or a traffic problem?
Visitor count decides it. Single digits means traffic. Reasonable visitors with zero enquiries means test your contact points first, then look at whether the page states a price and a reason.

What’s the cheapest way to get traffic to a website?
Verify your Google Business Profile, ask ten customers for reviews, and put your link on every touchpoint — all free. Then read Search Console for queries you nearly rank for before spending on ads.
